Description

Would you like your child to learn some exciting cooking skills?

Is your child up for the challenge of creating some delicious meals?

Cromwell Youth Trust have an engaging programme for your child (aged 11 – 18 years old) to take part in with our ‘Cooking Up a Storm’ Youth Development Programme.

This FIVE (5) WEEK programme is designed to be hands-on and interactive while your child is trained by professional chefs and food industry professionals!

when does the programme run?

The following dates and times are when our Cooking Up a Storm programme runs:

  • Thursday 15th August – 3:30pm to 6:30pm
  • Thursday 22nd August – 3:30pm to 6:30pm
  • Thursday 29th August – 3:30pm to 6:30pm
  • Wednesday 4th September (Take Over Amigos Night) – 4pm to 9pm
  • Thursday 5th September (Take Over Amigos Night) – 4pm to 9pm
  • Thursday 12th September – 3:30pm to 6:30pm

What location is the programme:

Each week your child meets at The Hangout and we then transport them off site to our weekly designated location. The pick up location is also The Hangout!

what is ‘Taking Over Amigos?

Cromwell Youth Trust have an exciting opportunity, that has kindly been provided by Amigos Cromwell, where our youth participants of this ‘Cooking Up a Storm’ programme can get fully immersed in the hospitality industry – they will be shadowed and supported by a trained member of Amigos staff. From 4:30pm the participants will take customers orders, serve them their meals and interact with members of the public who have come to dine – your child will also enjoy a meal on the house at the end of the night at 8:30pm

This is an event where we encourage families to contact Amigos Cromwell and book a table for one, or why not both? nights so you can see your child in action! Remember to reference ‘Cromwell Youth Trust’ during your booking!

In other exciting news Amigos Cromwell have offered to use these two dates as a much needed fundraiser for CYT where a percentage of profit will be kindly donated back to CYT that goes on to support our youth!

*Please note that each participant will only take part in one night of the Taking Over Amigos Event. So this means a maximum 3 youth each night.

what should my child bring:

Your child must wear closed toe shoes and appropriate clothing for being in a kitchen space. It is also recommended that your child also bring along a container to have the opportunity to take their cooking home to share with the family.

My child can only come for a couple of dates, can we pay for the ones they only attend?

We hope your child could attend all sessions as they all are different and exciting. The programme is a one off cost and not weekly and there will not be any refund for missed dates – due to programme costs.

Programmes developed and operated by Cromwell Youth Trust are designed to provide youth with the opportunity to have an enjoyable and fun experience in a safe and supportive environment. Our goals are to also support the development of essential life skills through experiential learning. All of our programmes are monitored by our experienced Youth Workers.
